I am a historian of the formative period of Islam (7th century CE), with a primary research focus on the spatial geography, hydrology, and resource governance of the Hijaz during the Prophetic and early Caliphate eras. My doctoral dissertation, The Geographical Aspects of Seerat Al-Nabi (S.A.W): Special Reference with the Riwayat-e-Seerat of Water and Lands (AIOU, 2021), established a systematic spatial and textual framework to analyze how early Islamic state-building interacted with the arid ecology, agrarian estates, and water systems of western Arabia.

My work bridges classical Arabic textual criticism (Kutub al-Buldān, Maghāzī, and early administrative traditions) with spatial humanities and environmental history. I investigate how the nascent polity in Medina institutionalized resource conservation, regulated communal commons (ḥimā), enacted agrarian reclamation policies (iḥyāʾ al-mawāt), and distributed land grants (iqṭāʿ) to build a resilient socio-economic order. In addition to peer-reviewed articles on early Islamic hydrology and land tenure, I authored the university textbook Geography of Sirah (جغرافیہ سیرت), establishing spatial and environmental methodologies as essential analytical tools for historical inquiry into early Islam.

"My scholarly trajectory is anchored in the spatial, material, and ecological realities that underpinned the emergence of Islam in 7th-century Arabia. Rather than viewing early Islamic history solely through political narratives or theological texts, my research foregrounds the tangible systems that sustained early community life: the governance of water, the reclamation of fertile and arid lands, and the equitable distribution of shared resources.

By integrating rigorous classical Arabic philology with spatial humanities and environmental history, my objective is to provide a grounded, empirically verified understanding of institutional state-building in the early Islamicate world. My long-term vision aims to cultivate interdisciplinary dialogues with international scholars in Late Antique Mediterranean and Near Eastern studies, demonstrating how early Arabian ecological governance offers critical insights into historical resilience, resource management, and agrarian political economy."
